Our client is a world leading stainless steel and tool steel products manufacturers, processor and distributor. They provide steel solutions for the automotive and Oil & Gas industries among others. They are active worldwide and have their facilities in Europe, North America, Africa and Australia.
Due to its fast expansion in Asia they are currently looking for a high caliber individual to fill the following position:
National Sales Manager – Based in Kuala Lumpur
THE POSITION
The National Sales Manager will have strategic importance within the organization. It will focus on developing and implementing all necessary sales activities that result in revenue, profit margin generation and increasing of the market share in the stainless steel sector.
The position requires an extraordinary ability for sales and new accounts development, excellent contacts in the industry, product knowledge and overall understanding of the Malaysian metallurgical sector.
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Fulfilling the sales target aligned with company objectives.
- Planning and managing all sales activities for existing accounts with special focus on stainless steel products.
- Developing new accounts within the assigned territory. Establishing and maintaining business and social relationships with customers and potential clients.
- Responsible for pricing, cost costing, sales budgeting and customer terms and conditions. Launching new products and achieving market penetration.
- Developing and maintaining positive liaisons with external contacts to gather market information.
PERSON SPECIFICATION (Essential Personal Abilities/Aptitudes/Skills)
- Bachelor degree in Metallurgic, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related.
- Solid technical knowledge of steel and related products.
- Good negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Able to make decisions independently and results-oriented
- Charismatic and natural leader
- Good command of English and Mandarin
- Dynamic, resourceful and goal-oriented. Rational, consistent and high levels of integrity.
- Engaged, passionate, hands-on and open for a long term commitment
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 10 years experience in sales for steel industry. Stainless steel focus will be an advantage.
- Experience in sales and new account development.
- Comprehensive knowledge of selling techniques, pricing and contract negotiation.
- Strong customer and contacts base network. Contacts in Automotive industry and Oil & Gas sector is a plus.
- Very good understanding of the market in the Malaysian territory.
- Effective project management, negotiating, planning and solving skills.
